"Bye Bye Valentino"

I was having such a great day today. We were in 6th period science blowing up glass with a blowtorch, when my friend Emily mentioned to me that Valentino is retiring! x[ I was so upset, it's a sad day in the fashion industry when someone like him is willing to stop creating such beautiful works of art such as his clothing. I know that he has left his mark on many red carpets, catalogs, and fashion history. I hope that he doesn't give up fashion for good, and maybe one day he will return. Hopefully though, the house will still remain and continue on without him. Like Chanel. To me, Valentino Garavani will always be one of the greates designers of all time. He claims he has gotten "Bored" with the fashion industry because there is not enough creativity and too much buisness. I have to agree, but in my opinion, such great designers such as himself and Oscar De La Renta could really build up fashion again. To some people, the industry is all about buisness and money. But to me, it's about expressing who you are, the creativity, and the fact that is just fun and exciting. I can't wait for Fall 2009.
